http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/D-Bus D-Bus was heavily influenced by the DCOP system and has replaced DCOP in the KDE 4 release; it is already implemented in QT 4, GNOME, for Windows and the Mae Mo mobile platform. In GNOME it has gradually replaced most parts of the earlier Bonobo mechanism.
