(2022-05-01) Work vs Personal Google Calendars
I have a personal Google Account with multiple Google Calendars. I also now have a dayjob account with its own GoogleCalendar.
I want a single view with all the entries.
More precisely,
- I want a "personal" view that includes my work events
- This works nicely in my android gcal app, but not so much on my Mac.
- I want a "work" view that includes my personal events, but in a single lighter color
It's possible I'm over-complicating things, but in the days of remote work, juggling personal vs work is messier - some personal events should block you from work meetings, other shouldn't. (So on top of everything else I end up Copying events from a personal account to the work account if I want it to block time.)
Anyhow...
When logged into my work account, if I Add a calendar, and provide my personal gmail, it sucks in the person calendar for that account, but not the Family calendar which I own/share.
I finally solved this by (also) Adding a calendar by URL, and using the private-ical URL for the Family calendar.
Extra dimension of crazy (maybe temporary?)
- sometimes I use calendly to schedule something with an outsider, but not all my Family events actually block my time, so I Copy those to my Personal calendar and have Calendly use only that calendar....
