(2014-06-25) Fishbein Full Stack Education Startups
Mike Fishbein notes the challenge in creating a Full Stack Startup in Education. Jobs (Making A Living, Vo-Tech) are the top of the education stack... Information Wants To Be Free... Credentialing is the key component... A full stack education company might not look like a school at all. It could look like an employer, a lender, a school, and/or a recruiter all rolled into one.
This relates a bit to my School Reform thinking. See also Varieties Of Info Technology Jobs.
But something smells wrong here. So I Commented. How many companies have the scale where this would make sense? Mc Donalds University? Does Cisco want to own schools, or just define the Credential?
By the time you're big enough to be able to change the Hiring game, are you in a position to do a Start Up like this? And if you're an education Start Up, do you want to worry about being able to Hire enough grads to maintain credibility of the funnel?
